Some Adventures Outdoors
(and In the Kitchen!)

This book is comprised of 25 outdoor and kitchen 'adventures.'  Beginning in the early 1960s when I was very young, my parents instilled in me a love for the outdoors, including harvesting various fish and game species (I later learned how to develop menus and prepare savory meals featuring my harvests), and continues into my early fifties.  The vision for the book was initially for it to be a 'coffee table' book full of colorful photos of the outdoors and the wild fare harvested. It then expanded to include complete menus following each 'outdoor adventure,' providing for a 'kitchen adventure' that allows the home chef to prepare tasty meals for family and friends (without having to cook over a campfire!).

This second book in what I now intend to become a series continues the outdoor and kitchen adventure theme highlighting my adventures afield (and in the kitchen!) after my family and I moved from Seattle, Washington to Savannah, Georgia in 1999. There were a number of different fish and game species in Georgia that didn't exist in the Pacific Northwest, and learning more about them presented me with many fun new opportunities to get outdoors, then create new menus featuring these new and different harvests. The results of describing these new adventures includes 15 outdoor and kitchen 'adventures' with a southern flare.
